BBQ BAKED ZITI

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 Pound of Edley’s Smoked Pork, Shredded

  • 1/2 Pound of Penne Noodles

  • 40 oz. of Your Favorite Spaghetti Sauce

  • 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded

  • 3/4 Cup Italian Blend Cheese, Shredded

  • 2 Tablespoons of Italian Seasoning

  • 1 Tablespoon of Trader Joe’s Everyday Seasoning

  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Minced Garlic

RECIPE

  • Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    • Add penne noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.

    • Drain the pasta and set aside.

  • Prepare the Sauce

    • In a large sauce pan, heat the spaghetti sauce over medium heat.

    • Stir in the shredded smoked pork and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.

  • Mix the Cheeses:

    • In a separate bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, Italian blend cheese and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, set aside.

  • Combine Pasta and Sauce:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the pork and spaghetti sauce mixture.

    • Stir until the pasta is evenly coated with sauce.

  • Layer the Baked Ziti:

    • Pre-heat your oven to 375°F

    • In a baking dish, start by spreading a layer of the pasta mixture.

    • Sprinkle a layer of the cheese mixture on top of the layer of pasta.

    • Add a light sprinkle of Trader Joe’s Everyday seasoning, dried minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.

    • Repeat the layering process until you reach the top of the dish.

  • Top & Bake:

    • Finish topping your pasta with a final layer of your cheese mixture.

    • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese on top is lightly browned and bubbly.

  • Serve:

    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving

    • Enjoy your flavorful BBQ baked ziti!
