BBQ GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 oz. of Edley’s Smoked Pork or Chicken, Shredded

  • Edley’s BBQ Sauce

  • 2 Slices of Bread (Your Choice)

  • 2 Slices of American Cheese

  • Wickles Pickles, Sliced

  • Optional Toppings: Crispy Jalapeños, Crispy Fried Onions, Sautéed Onions, Bacon, etc.

RECIPE

  • Prepare the filling:

    • Mix and heat the chopped pork or chicken with BBQ sauce until the meat is warm and evenly coated.

    • Set aside.

  • Assemble the sandwich:

    • Butter one side of each slice of bread.

    • On the side of the bread that is not buttered, layer one slice of American cheese.

    • Add the BBQ sauce-coated smoked meat on top of the cheese.

    • Place your pickle slices on top of the meat.

    • Top with the second slice of the American cheese.

    • If you’re adding any additional toppings, layer them on now.

    • Close the sandwich with the other slice of bread, buttered side facing out.

  • Grill the Sandwich:

    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

    • Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes each side.

    • Press down lightly with a spatula for even grilling.

  • Serve:

    • Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet.

    • Slice in half, and serve while hot.
