BBQ GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH
INGREDIENTS
3 oz. of Edley’s Smoked Pork or Chicken, Shredded
Edley’s BBQ Sauce
2 Slices of Bread (Your Choice)
2 Slices of American Cheese
Wickles Pickles, Sliced
Optional Toppings: Crispy Jalapeños, Crispy Fried Onions, Sautéed Onions, Bacon, etc.
RECIPE
Prepare the filling:
Mix and heat the chopped pork or chicken with BBQ sauce until the meat is warm and evenly coated.
Set aside.
Assemble the sandwich:
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
On the side of the bread that is not buttered, layer one slice of American cheese.
Add the BBQ sauce-coated smoked meat on top of the cheese.
Place your pickle slices on top of the meat.
Top with the second slice of the American cheese.
If you’re adding any additional toppings, layer them on now.
Close the sandwich with the other slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
Grill the Sandwich:
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes each side.
Press down lightly with a spatula for even grilling.
Serve:
Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwich from the skillet.
Slice in half, and serve while hot.
